Cycle and pedestrian area: this is the proposal that will embellish the Giulianova promenade freeing the roadway from cars and giving new vitality to the area in favor of a further development of the local tourist economy.
The proposal of cycle and pedestrian area which comes from the council group Giulianova Tourism is aimed at enhancing the roadway of the Giulianova promenade .
More precisely, the cycle and pedestrian area that should be realized would redevelop the stretch of via that it goes from the Arlecchino chalet to the Caprice chalet . It would therefore be the best eco-sustainable solution to give the right value to this area, thus underlining it the natural and tourist value.
The project plan
The project is in draft and will be evaluated, during the implementation phase, on the basis of the existing one born from the work of the previous administration.
There design draft of the cycle / pedestrian area was created with the collaboration of Alessandro Tursi. Urban architect, is the National President of the Italian Federation of the Environment and Bicycle (FIAB) and the creator of ComuniCiclabili FIAB.
Tursi highlighted the need for recover and re-evaluate this area making it accessible exclusively to bikes and pedestrians. This way it would be more usable from a tourist point of view with the consequence of an increase of the economy of this sector so important for Giulianova.
According to the project guidelines, therefore, the urban stretch indicated will go completely released from cars.
There bicycle lane will be expanded with the inclusion of two-way street, thus making it easier for the bikes to travel in both directions.
As for, however, it pedestrian space, this will be enriched with trees, flower beds and other street furniture complements.
The pedestrian area would also acquire further importance, given that, in this way, it will offer a direct link to be able to move easily between bathing facilities and shops. And this will facilitate the organization of various kinds of events during the summer season and not.
